Culture and History
My time studying ASL has given me the opportunity to learn about Deaf Culture and Deaf History. Below are some examples of the work I did on these topics.
Here is a sample of work I did regarding Deaf Culture. This is paper is a critique of 4 autobiographies by Deaf women and it looks at their lives in the perspectives of DeafCrit, Deaf Epistemology, and DeafGain.
Here is a sample of work I did in my Deaf History Course. As a class we created an open resource textbook in which my section covered William Stokoe and gave an introduction to his work in ASL Linguistics.
